i live here and the beaches arent that great. the water is always cold all over the california coast & the beaches really dont have much palm trees, and hardly any beaches have white sand or tropical climates or are crystal clear….places like hawaii and florida seem to have much nicer beaches but many people are always wanting to come here? why do people think thier so great?

I live in SoCal and I agree with you. It’s all the Hollywood Hype. Many beaches in California are becoming third world cesspools. o_O

The Aloha Robert Travel Show – Beach Information: Playa Del Rey is a great uncrowded beach with everything from bike riding to basketball. This wide expansive beach is beautiful, but it sits under LAX, which causes a lot of noise. Playa Del Rey is one of the most appealing beaches if you want to stay away from the crowds. The white sand beach with small dunes allows nice views of the Marina Del Rey harbor. The bike path starts up again after the street detour between Washington Blvd. and Fiji Way. If you are a volleyball player you’ll be glad to know that there are plenty of courts available even on the weekends. There is a beautiful grass park with a lagoon and playground equipment for the kids. Dogs are allowed on leash in the park. There are basketball courts and a baseball diamond. Food/dining: Currently there is no food available on the beach, however, it is just a few blocks into town where there are restaurants and markets.
Restrooms: Restrooms are clean and available on the beach east of the bike path.
