What is the name of this dress?

I bought this beautiful silk wrap from a shop on the Ocean City boardwalk/ This dress came with instructions on how to wear it about fourteen different ways. I have lost the instuctions, and I do not know what these are called so that I may have my sister pick me up another one when she returns to the beach in a few days. If no one knows this, maybe you may be able to let me know what the garment is called that is worn by Eastern Indian women ( they are very similar- or at least that’s what a lot of people told me on a vacation to an amusement park last summer.) So I am hoping that may help point me in the right direction. Thank you.

maybe a sarong?

I believe you are talking about a sari, or saree. A sari is the traditional female garment of the Indian subcontinent. The sari is a very long strip of unstitched cloth, ranging from four to nine metres in length, which can be draped in various styles. The most common style is for the sari to be wrapped around the waist, with one end then draped over the shoulder baring the midriff. The sari is usually worn over a petticoat (called lehnga/ghagra in northern India, pavada/pavadai in the south, and shaya in eastern India), with a blouse known as a choli forming the upper garment. The choli has short sleeves with a low neck and is usually cropped, which is particularly well-suited for wear in the sultry South Asian summers. Office dress codes, however, prohibit cropped, sleeveless cholis; similarly, women in the armed forces, when wearing a sari uniform, don a half-sleeve shirt tucked in at the waist.

I believe it is called a "SARI"… a sarong is what you wear to the beach to cover your bottom.
