How hot is it at the beaches around The Gulf of Mexico in September?

I want to arrange a vacation to Orange Beach in the last week of September and wanted to know if it is still hot enough at that time of the year to lay out on the beaches. When I go there during the Summer months, it’s in the 90′s with a slight breeze…anything like that in September?

I used to live there before I came to South Florida. The temps are still in the 80′s and the water in the Gulf is also very warm. (high 70′s t0 80 degrees) Just be sure to watch the weather before you go to make sure there are no hurricanes forecast for the area. Sept is still near the peak hurricane season. My kids still live there near Destin and Pensacola. It usually does not get cool there until late Nov or Dec. We have spent New Years Day swimming and picnicking on the beach in past years…..

Yes, it’s still warm enough for beaches in September. It’s warm enough some years through October.
