Zihuatanejo, Mexico Beaches/Water?

Looking for a description of the beaches in Zihuatanejo from someone who has been there. Is the water clean & clear? Warm? Calm swimmiing conditions? What’s it like in April?
Thank you in advance!

We have been going to Ixtapa for 12 plus years with friends first and then our own timeshare. We stay for 15 days each February/March. Though the Ixtapa beach is far more stunning and beautiful, the beaches in Zihuat are very nice, clean and clear. Since there are few resorts flush on the beach, there are fewer people on the beach. Most of the resorts are cliffside. In Zihuat the beaches are a ways from the downtown area where in Ixtapa, downtown is a stroll across the street giving more access to restaurants and shopping. We loved the Villa de Sol resort but I believe that has been bought out and had a name change. We sold our timeshare 2 yrs ago and things change a lot in that time in the area. We have never been there in April but it is getting dangerously close to the rainy season which could not only compromise your vacation but the rain brings out bugs that aren’t there during the winter. If you go, be sure to dine at the Casa Bahia or have an elegant dinner at Casa de la Canta. And take a day in Ixtapa and walk the beaches. It’s only 10 minutes away.

I love Zihuatanejo! There beaches are very nice and clean and warm. There is one beach I loved. It was at the Las Brisas hotel. Take a cab down to the beach. it’s a public beach. So What I would do is just tell the cab driver to take you to Las Brisas hotel and then he will drop you off at the hotel and just walk from there. The beach isn’t crowded which is nice. You’ll really enjoy it there have fun! also go eat a senor frogs there its really good!
